‘Dysgu am Byth – Learning for Life’
Our school is a happy, caring, learning community because
– Everyone is listened to, valued, respected and appreciated for who they are,
– It is a safe, secure environment where we recognise effort and achievement,
– Together we show God’s love, encouraging spiritual and moral development
We have high expectations of our pupils and expect them to work hard and to try their best at all times. We also expect them to have good manners and to be considerate towards others. Our motto suggests that there is more to education than success in the curriculum. We want our children to be effective communicators to help maximise their future happiness and success.
Information about our school
Ysgol Llanbedr was founded in 1829 with the original building located next to the Post Office in the village. In 1864 the school moved to its present position which is ideally situated in open countryside with beautiful surroundings overlooked by Moel Famau and Moel Fenlli in the heart of the Vale of Clwyd. This year we are celebrating our 150th anniversary, with many planned activities.
We know that happy, motivated and challenged children will thrive and develop to their full potential. We focus upon teaching and learning and expect everyone to have good manners. We value the opinions of our parents and the contribution they can make. We aim for simplicity and harmony whilst aspiring to innovate and evolve as a school. We would like everyone to feel part of our school and accompany us on our journey.
As a church school we also endeavour to meet the spiritual needs of our children. We hope that they retain a sense of awe and wonder in the beautiful world they inhabit, and are able to make sense of their existence through God.
