Bishop Gregory has appointed Helen Taubman as the next Lay Director for Cursillo Cymru St Asaph.

Helen’s appointment was made at the Annual General Meeting  held on Saturday, 12th January, 2012 at Rossett.

Helen has been a Cursillista for just over three years but has played an important role in the continued development of the Movement in the Diocese since her weekend.  Most recently Helen has been the BACC representative and was at the last Catch The Vision conference held at High Leigh, Hertfordshire in 2010.  It was through that conference that we “caught the vision” of inviting the UK Ultreya! to St Asaph in 2012.

As Helen takes on this role we also register an enormous vote of thanks to our retiring Lay Director, Marion Watts.  Marion has expended an enormous amount of energy on moving Cursillo forwards over the four years that she has been in office and we are very grateful for that sense of energy that she has brought to the movement over these years.  She claims that she is now going to have some time off but that will have to be seen to be believed!

In addition to Helen’s appointment, a number of volunteers stepped forward to take up vacant roles so that for the first time for a number of years all positions on the Secretariat have been filled.

Gabi Parkhurst has agreed to take over as Treasurer from Ken Benison.  We are very grateful to Gabi and our enormous thanks go to Ken for the sterling and dedicated work that he’s done over so many years, not just in this role but in many others both with Cursillo in the diocese and with BACC.

Shirley Thompson has offered to become Secretary and this is the first time the role has been filled for quite a number of years, so again we are very grateful.

Heather Chidley is taking over from Helen Taubman as the new BACC rep. All those who have taken on this role in the past have commented on how it has helped them grow as well as to contribute more and we hope that Heather is equaklly blessed.  We are very grateful to her for stepping into this role.
