We currently have two exciting opportunities to join the team that supports our clergy and local church representatives in caring for our church buildings and in seeking new
opportunities for the future:
- Diocesan Churches Inspector – full time
- Churches Conservation and Development Officer –
21 hours per week (flexible)
There are over 200 churches in the diocese, including a range of listed churches of all gradings as well as modern multi-use buildings. You will join the friendly Diocesan Administration Team based at our busy Diocesan Office in St Asaph but will also be required to travel around the diocese regularly.
Diocesan Churches Inspector – full time (3-year fixed term contract)
This is a brand-new opportunity for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor or Architect with good knowledge of historic and listed buildings. We are looking for enthusiastic professional who can provide a locally-based church inspection and advisory service for Mission Areas across the diocese.
Working as part of a small and committed Property Team that looks after our portfolio
of ecclesiastical and residential property, you will assess the condition of all church
buildings across the Diocese and provide advice and recommendations to each
Mission Area Conference and the Diocese on priorities for action, including the
provision of support for implementation.
Churches Conservation and Development Officer – 21 hours per week (flexible)
We are looking for a self-motivated, well organised property professional who is passionate about conservation and development of historic buildings and a background in planning or architecture.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches, the Diocesan Property Board and members of church congregations in our 21 Mission Areas to conserve, repair and adapt our churches for the future.
