Llangollen Church to host live BBC Sunday service

Llangollen Church is to host this weekend’s BBC Radio 4 Sunday Worship, featuring the Diocese of St Asaph’s Missioner in Residence, Mark Yaconelli.

The 35 minute radio programme live from St Collen’s Church will be introduced by the Revd Mary Stallard, the Chaplain of St Joseph’s Catholic and Anglican High School in Wrexham, and Mark will be the preacher.

The service builds upon the work Mark is doing across the Diocese of St Asaph encouraging congregations to deepen faith, explore spirituality and engage better with local communities.

Mary Stallard webMary Stallard said: “It’s been a privilege to be involved in writing this service with Mark and we’re really looking forward to leading worship with the very talented Sirenian Singers.

“Mark’s been helping us to look at the stories of our lives and to connect these with the Gospel. In this service we’ll be reflecting upon the temptations and fears that prevent us from discovering what’s real in our lives.”

The service will feature music by the North East Wales based Sirenian Singers, directed by Jean Stanley Jones MBE with accompanist Christopher Enston.

Sunday Worship from Llangollen will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 4 on June, 26 at 8.10am.
