Pennant Melangell quiet days
In the Diocese of St Asaph we have an ancient place of pilgrimage – the Shrine Church at Pennant Melagell.

|Monday 6 May 2013||“Saints and Shrines of the Diocese of St Asaph” – The first of a series of 6 talks by historian Tristan Grey-Hulse.This will be a day event to conincide with the pilgrims from the North Wales Pilgrim’s Way arriving in Cefn at 9am. There will be refreshments at the Neuadd Owen Village Hall between 10.30am and 4.30pm.The talk will takes place at 11am and concludes with a 45 minute walk to St Mary’s Well, Cefn where the talk will be completed.Tickets are £2.00 per person. |Saturday 18 May 2013||Mathrafal Pilgrimage Walk. This will take place along the Vyrnwy Valley and is for all abilities. You can read our report on the pilgrimage here.|
|Monday 27 May 2013||Llanrhos Deanery well walk. Starting at St Cystennin’s via Fynnon Sadwrn (Penrhynside), Llanrhos (St Mary’s well) and ending at St Tudno’s on the Orme (anyone can join the whole walk, part of the walk, or meet for opening/closing worship).|

|Sunday 18 August 2013||“Saints and Shrines of the Diocese of St Asaph” – The third of a series of 6 talks by historian Tristan Grey-Hulse.2pm Neuadd Owen Village Hall. This is close to the anniversary of the dedication of St Mary’s Well, Cefn and the Chapel in the 13th Century. The talk will be followed by a walk to the chapel where a short service will take place.Refreshments are available at the Hall between 2pm and 5pm.Tickets are £2.00 per person. |Sunday 25 August 2013||Meliden and Gwaenysgor Parish Pilgrimage and PicnicBasingwerk Abbey to St Winifred’s Well. Meet in grounds of Basingwerk Abbey from 1:00pm with your picnic. After eating we will walk up to St. Winifred’s Well (approx 1 mile on a good path). Entrance to Well is 80p adults and 20p children. Afterwards a smaller group will walk on to St Beuno’s well. Venerable Andrew Jones on the theme of Pilgrimage. Andrew has written several books on Pilgrimage and is an experienced Pilgrimage leader. His latest book is much quoted in our diocesan pilgrimage course. This would be a good evening for all those interested in the theme and who are interested in following the course during Lent.
