Fracking and Climate Change

Resources on social and environmental topics are provided here so that Christians may be better informed and through study, debate and prayer come to a view on their responsibility for God’s creation.

Two environmental issues seem to be making it into the news a lot at the moment.

Recent studies have concluded that Climate Change is very likely to be caused by humans. The other debate concerns “fracking”.  Fracking is the process of extracting gas from shale deposits in an attempt to produce more energy resources.

Environmental groups are almost universally opposed to fracking citing potential damage to drinking water reserves, water usage and the potential for mini-earthquakes.

In contrast, the commercial operators suggest that this is a vital energy resource which will cause minimal environmental damage.

You can find out more about these issues by reading the papers below.
