Back to Church Sunday – what will you do?

BTC Sunday FrontBack to Church Sunday falls on 28 September this year and is an initiative that many parishes have found helpful in years gone by.

This year, to help you to invite people to your church, the parishioners of Llandegla have come up with this flyer.  It includes Bishop Gregory’s reflection from Teulu Asaph about whether Britain is still a Christian Country and has an invite to their morning service.  They have made a generic version which is available for you to download and use below:

One side includes a space for your church name and there is a blank section on the reverse for you to add local information. St Tecla’s Church in Llandegla have used the following words which you can use as a guide:

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY on 28th September at 10am

If these words of Bishop Gregory strike a chord with you we would like to invite you to join us in St Tecla’s Church on Sunday 28th September at 10 am for our morning worship. Why not come as a family – the service will be a “Family Service” and there will be a cup of coffee/tea and some squash, plus biscuits, afterwards to give us an opportunity for fellowship.

Perhaps you have not been to church for quite a while or perhaps you have never been – this service is for YOU. You will receive a warm welcome and see some friendly faces. We hope very much that you will accept this invitation and join us – we look forward to seeing you.

The flyer has been produced by Martyn Walsh in Llandegla and you can distribute it in your parishes should you wish to do so. You will also find other resources at www.backtochurch.co.uk

Bishop Gregory is encouraging parishes to participate in Back to Church Sunday and says it “offers the potential to create a ‘Season for Invitation’ running through until Christmas”.
