Theology for Life
Do you want to know more about the Christian Faith and the teachings of the church?
The theme of the February/March 2016 edition of Teulu Asaph is Theology for Life and the Director of Exploring Faith, the Revd Dr Richard Hainsworth wrote an article unpacking the Bible – what it is and how do we read it.
You can read more on the Bible, its history, purpose, meaning and understanding, in these articles:
- Living Scripture
- Doing Theology 2014 Handbook final
- Old Testament Handbook 2014

Exploring Faith: Theology for Life
The Exploring Faith programme is one resource we offer to help individuals and church congregations grow in their ministry and discipleship. There is a `foundation year’ of three modules: “Faith, the Church and the Future”, “Introduction to Theology” and “This is our Calling” and is designed to be used within parishes or mission areas / deaneries to help churches discern their needs in mission and ministry.
We also offer a two year certificate or four year diploma course in theology, accredited by Glyndwr University, designed for those who want to learn more about theology, as well as those who are wanting to reflect on their discipleship or train for specific ministries. It is also possible to follow the certificate or diploma course out of interest and not for University accreditation. The learning happens in local education groups, using study materials and a text book and is led by a facilitator.
If you are interested in joining the course in September, please fill in the ‘form for students’ and email a copy to Revd Dr Richard Hainsworth and he will let you know about local groups. Please also look at the leaflet, which has more information. If you are interested in the Foundation Year, please have a word with your local clergy – applications for this should be through the Area Dean or parish priest. The course can be followed in English or in Welsh.
